Illustrations.

This page will comprise of some of my illustrations that I have created in my free time outside of college. They manly consist of graphite pencil drawing yet I aspire to later experiment in different medias. When the illustrations are photographed they do not look as good as they do on paper but I though that they were at least a way of showing a media of design in which I work.

This is a graphite pencil drawing of Hayley Williams the singer from the band Paramore in the style of a portrait. I used a 4B and a 2H grade pencils for this illustration, the outline that I have used to exaggerate the lines is something that I am not sure about and is something that I think I will not try again since it gives it a more cartoon style than I wanted .

This illustration is more realistic compared my previous illustration. I have tried to depict the singer from the band Evanescence Amy Lee in this graphite pencil drawing in which I used the grades 5H, 3H and 3B. In this one I tried to give it a more photo realism look by having more subtle lines which looks better than bold more cartoonist lines in my opinion, but my skill in drawing does need to improve so that I can create drawings in greater detail. I think that the hair should be darker since you can barley see it and I had spent quite some time drawing the hair

In this illustration I based it from a piece of concept art which I saw for the video game Deus Ex human revolution which is depicting the protagonist of the video game Adam Jensen. Concept art in my opinion is probably the best place to see some of the best illustration there is. I have not got anywhere near the amount of talent concept artists have but I am try to increase the amount of the person that I illustrate as this one shows since here I have also depicted a large proportion of the character body. I used the graphite pencil grades 5B, B and 3H.

This is another illustration that I have based upon pre-existing concept design for video games, this time it was Lara Croft. As with all of my illustrations there are areas in which I would like to improve, in this on I would like to make more realistic looking guns and to add a background like there is in the concept art which I based it on. I used the pencil grades 3B, HB and 4H.

In the illustration above I have depicted Misha Collins character Castiel in the television series supernatural. This is in the style of portrait and I have tried to have a photo realism style to my depiction since I have tried as with all my other illustrations to have realistic shading and as much detail as I can include. I think that the hair should be darker since you can barley see it and I had spent quite some time drawing the hair and since overall the times are quite subtle when my illustration is photographed it is harder to see the pencil lines. I have used 5H, 3H and 5B grade pencils.

This next illustration is depicting Simon Bakers character Patrick Jane from the television show The Mentalist. This is a close up in the style of portrait so that I can add plenty of detail such as plenty of realistic shading, line by line hair which was very light as with all my other illustrations so didn't photograph well, reflected light in the eyes as with my other illustrations and various other little additions. This illustration is one of my most detailed so far yet still lacks colour and in the future I will add colour whether that will be by using physical colours such as coloured pencils or digitally on a software program like Photoshop. I had used pencils in the grades 4H, 2H and 5B.
