Gothic origins.

The word Gothic goes back to the times of 1611, the word Goth was earlier used to describe a group of invading German tribes. The word Gothic was used to describe the language that was used by the Goths.

Later the word Gothic was used to describe things that were "Medieval, not classic" and "barbarous", then it was used to describe an architectural style that differs from Greek and Roman building styles.
