Rockwell is a Serif type face and full classification is slab serif.
The type face was invented in 1934 by an in-house design studio called Monotype foundry, which was overseen by Frank Hinman Pierpon.
This type has been used in multiple different products and is still frequently used today, Guinness world records to the New York times all use this clear and easily read type.
